Looks like rain, smells like rain...

It was another hot day here in Southwest Florida. It looked like rain all day but nary a drop came down. I completed yet another batch of yummy crock pot yogurt, peach flavored this time. The recipe is:

Crock Pot Yogurt

1. Put 8 cups (or half a gallon) of milk in the crockpot.
2. Turn the crockpot on low for 2 1/2 hours.
3. Turn off and unplug the crockpot.
4. Add 3/4 to 1 cup of sweetener. honey or sugar.
5. Add 1 Tbsp of vanilla.

6. Let the crockpot sit and cool covered for 3 hours.
7. Take a cup or so of warm milk out of the crockpot.
8. Add one small container(or 1/2 cup) of store bought yogurt.
9. Add one envelope of Knox unflavored gelatin.
10. Mix well and add this starter solution back into the crockpot.
11. Recover and wrap your crockpot with a nice warm blanket.
12. Let the yogurt incubate (sit undisturbed) for the next 8-10 hours.
13. Unwrap your crockpot and ENJOY!!

This recipe will fill 2 of the large yogurt containers full with a small dish extra (to eat immediately).

I got this recipe from my good friend Beth. She makes her yogurt about as often as I do, twice a week.

We picked up our produce from the co-op today. We received a bounty of goodies including:

Cucumbers
Tomatoes, Roma (Plum)
Kale, Lacinato,
Corn, Yellow
Lettuce, Romaine
Banana, Green, Fair Trade
Grapes, Seedless, Black
Peaches
Plums, Black, Black Beauty
Kiwifruit
Lemons, Fancy

I have not decided what to do with all of it yet, but I will post my recipes as soon as I do. I did not get the lemon in my $15 bag, but grabbed one as my extra and that will go into sun tea. The kale will go into soup, the grapes will go into my belly, and the tomatoes... hhhmmm well we will have to see about those.

In other news my littlest started pushing a cart around today in his attempt to become more mobile. This is a whole 2-3 months earlier than our first. Lets see if this actually leads to sooner walking or not!
