I recently had a co-op member ask me if we were getting a good deal with our produce. Well, as a fellow penny pincher I was curious myself. Putting everything into consideration along with the rising food prices, buying the more expensive local option and weights and measures here is what I came up with...

Field greens 5.99, radish 1.49, mushroom 1.50 (approximately 4.8ounces) , pepper (approximately 11.3 ounces), mango (1) , apples (6 apples 1.35 pound), tomatoes 2.99, tangelo (1-2 approximately .50-1.00):
$23.46 taking the lowest price on everything
Total for $25 bag at Whole Foods:
Field greens 5.99, beets 4.99, mushroom, pepper (2), mango (2), Pink lady apples (8-10), tomatoes, tangelo (2), Sugar Snap Peas (1/2 pound approximately), strawberries:
$47.46 (taking the lowest price and weight on everything)
I can’t really give a good example of the Publix since they did not have all the options we have along with the Green Wise option.

Jess, this is great!! I'm totally sharing this with my group too!!
If there is ever any doubt that we don't try our best to get the best produce at the best prices. Only we know how hard we work! and now there is proof!!
